The chiller-type systems installed on our glove boxes are high-performance coolers which are mounted in specific and precise configurations. They are mainly installed on some of our controlled atmosphere glove boxes and are used to cool the purified gas after it passes through the circulator.

Technical specifications of the chiller:

Hermetic air/water exchanger type system

Input/output connection: ISO KF40 flanges

Cools the superheated inert gas leaving a glove box before passing through the closed-loop purification unit

Improves stability in low humidity concentrations in glove boxes for rooms with higher ambient temperatures and without A/C

Self-contained compact chiller with integrated pump, with adjustable temperature and parameters, 2 – 4 kW cooling capacity depending on model

In addition, they enable certain processes or instruments placed in glove boxes, which can be the cause of a rise in gas temperature and which are detrimental to proper operation, to be cooled down. However, their role is not exactly the same as that of an interior climate control system in the glove box.

The chiller-type system acts occasionally on the heating of the gas due to the circulator, while air conditioning has a direct effect on the workspace. These sets can be adapted if necessary to suit other types of air or gas flow installations in a closed or semi-open circuit.

The closed-loop gas recirculation systems designed by Jacomex for its purification units do not generate a rise in temperature and therefore do not require additional specific cooling.

Nevertheless some processes or instruments placed in glove boxes can be the cause of an elevation of temperature of the atmosphere of the glove box. Similarly, if the glove box is not installed in an air-conditioned room and the ambient temperature can reach 35 °C to 40 ° C in periods of high heat, we would advise, on a case by case basis, that either an air conditioning or an air exchanger/water unit be connected to the purification circuit.
